I am able to offer focused, short-term counselling as well as in-depth, long-term therapy in the comfortable environment of the Forest Therapy Centre in Woodford (North East London). I also work out of my own home where I offer video based counselling via Zoom, Google Meet, FaceTime, WhatsApp and I am also comfortable using MS Teams.

I offer dedicated support to people facing to sort of psychological and emotional difficulties that can cause distress and can help with most emotional and psychological issues. I work with adolescents as well as adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations.

I consider the relationship between counsellor/ therapist and client as the central element of the therapeutic support I offer which is why I specifically trained as a Person Centred Counsellor after acquiring my Honours degree in Psychology.

My demeanour is warm, empathic and supportive and for some, I simply provide a much-needed opportunity to be received, heard and understood. I feel this method provides my clients a safe space and the autonomy to seek and find solutions to their problems and I am of the firm belief that if I can accommodate my clients with an empathetic, non-judgemental approach, you will experience our therapeutic relationship in a way that will facilitate the exploration of your concerns.

My Approach

Mindful of boundaries, I offer a safe, confidential and reliable space where individuals can talk openly about themselves to help them understand what might have contributed to their problems. Exploring, thoughts, feelings emotions, experiences, dreams, behaviour and relationships can help clients change the way they respond to situations.

I aim to assist this process by being curious and attentive to the life stories of my clients and address both the causes and the symptoms of emotional and psychological distress that you are experiencing. My approach is based on the understanding that difficult experiences can affect the way we think, feel and behave. I have studied humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment, and cognitive concepts and methods of treatment, which allows me to understand my clients from a variety of perspectives.

My Way of Working with Clients

Upon receipt of a request for counselling, I will always attempt to respond within one working day of your request and I can usually meet within a week. I start with an initial consultation where the reasons for seeking help are discussed. Our initial meeting will consist of an assessment where I will seek to understand your issues and also request some background information in order to better understand you as a person. Our initial appointment gives you a chance to get a sense of compatibility and there is no obligation on you to continue working with me if you feel that you would like to choose a different counsellor. If you do decide to work with me, we can agree to move forward in principle. At this point, I will recommend we work for six sessions (with a view to extend if requested by you), twelve sessions or open-ended therapy (dependant on your circumstances).

Once we have agreed a way of working together, we will begin on an agreed date and time, usually in the form of a weekly, 50-minute session held at the same time and place every week. Towards the end of our work together, there is an opportunity to review the progress of your counselling by considering either a continuation of your counselling or working towards an agreed ending.

CTerms & Conditions

My fees vary depending the location of our work together and your specific circumstance. Please see below for a comprehensive list of fees and concessions. During our initial consultation, we can discuss a fee for your weekly counselling sessions. You can pay me electronically or by cash, cheque, or credit/ debit card. I usually work with clients by accepting payment post each session, which allows you time to arrange payment.
